Hiring To Get Results
What any manager really needs is personnel that can get RESULTS.
There's nothing worse than getting new personnel just to find out afterwards that they cannot get results. So how does one avoid this? How does one hire only those personnel that will help carry the load and get results?
When you hire someone, you want this person to be of great help to your company and you want this person to be able to bring an idea into an actual result. Here is a demonstration:
So, to explain a little bit more how this really works we look at a result you know. In order to actually create a result, what is needed before a result can actually be a RESULT? |

Well, in order to get a result you will need ACTION. |
And what needs to be before action and activity? There needs to be an IDEA. |
And this happens to be the flow, which always goes in this sequence. The IDEA is first, then the ACTION and then we can have RESULTS. That sequence is never altered. Because if a person starts to get results for which he doesn't have an idea, these results are either not their results, or they are totally coincident and they don't have any control over these results. |
At the point of ACTION there can often be some resistance. |
You know, some people can have lots and lots of IDEAS but they never get any RESULTS. That is because there is too much resistance on ACTION. |
Then you have people who have IDEAS and can also bring them into ACTION. |
But we also find sometimes people who have IDEAS going to ACTION and they do and they do and they do, and they actually never reach the RESULT. |
Now, the next is this. A person has IDEAS about what the ACTIONS should be, but he also has IDEAS about the RESULTS. And he has that in such a way so that he can actually drive the IDEA through ACTION to the RESULT. |
And this is why when we really investigate the RESULTS of an individual. |
We know automatically that these two steps must have been there, because otherwise these RESULTS wouldn't come about. |
